Copilot Chat in Outlook for affected users will expand from reasoning over a single email thread to reasoning over the user's entire inbox, calendar, meetings, and other enterprise data that is already available to them through Microsoft 365. Copilot Chat expands its data scope from limited message context to include full inbox, calendar, and enterprise data. Previously, reasoning was restricted to recent messages. This change enhances contextual understanding and response accuracy without requiring a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
Copilot Chat in Outlook for affected users will expand from reasoning over a single email thread to reasoning over the user's entire inbox, calendar, meetings, and other enterprise data that is already available to them through Microsoft 365. Users will be able to ask Copilot Chat to:
Locate and summarize information across their mailbox (for example, "What are the latest updates from my manager about project X?").
Uncover action items and follow-ups from across email and meetings.
Help manage their calendar, such as identifying upcoming commitments or gaps.
