Microsoft 365 Copilot: Unified web and work chat experience with dedicated Work IQ button
Unified web and work chat experience with dedicated Work IQ button
[Windows, Web]
Use a new Work IQ button located in the top left of the Chat UI to switch access to work data on/off without leaving the chat experience.
Details:
What changed:
Web and work chats are now unified into a single chat interface that now has a dedicated Work IQ button to control access to work data. Previously, users switched between separate web and work chat tabs, increasing cognitive load and inconsistency. This change unifies the chat experience and simplifies how users control access to work data when using chat.
Why:
Combining chats into one interface with a toggle reduces confusion and streamlines user workflows by providing quick control over access to work data.
Try this:
Open Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat.
Locate the Work IQ button in the top left of the Chat interface.
Work date is on by default; enable or disable work data access as needed by selecting the button.
Why this matters:
A unified chat interface reduces switching and helps users focus on their tasks with clearer data context.
Business impact:
Teams benefit from a consistent chat experience that improves productivity and reduces user errors.
Personal impact:
You spend less time navigating tabs and more time interacting with relevant data.
